The IS-ACTIVE AAL project has successfully finished at the end of June 2012. Field trials were conducted in three countries, The Netherlands, Romania and Norway, where COPD patients used the IS-ACTIVE system in their home environment.
The results show that the IS-ACTIVE system was positively received by patients, who were motivated to do more physical activity. The ProMove-3D wireless inertial sensor node has been successfully tested as an activity monitoring device during the field trials.
The measured parameters and the perceived health status show positive changes and indicate that using the IS-ACTIVE system has an important effect on improving the health condition.
