The WiBRATE European FP7 project explores new paradigms for vibration monitoring and control using wireless intelligent sensors that power themselves using harvested vibration energy.
The project contributes directly to strengthening the European market in several key sectors such as quality control systems, safety systems, wireless communication and industrial automation and control systems.
WiBRATE provides a complete end-to-end solution for carrying out fully automated condition-based maintenance for high vibration environments, thus totally eliminating the labour-intensive process of periodic monitoring. In addition, WiBRATE’s continuous monitoring system also provides proactive maintenance capability, offering detailed historical information about the status of the equipment in the event of a failure.
The results of WiBRATE are applied and showcased by the industrial partners in automotive manufacturing, aerospace and railway industries.
