The Dutch magazine “Aandrijftechniek” published in September 2020 an article about the Smart Maintenance FieldLab project where Inertia works together with Tata Steel and Techport. The article describes the use case of monitoring the fans inside the annealing furnaces of Tata Steel for predictive maintenance purposes. The monitoring is done using the Inertia’s wireless data acquisition platform nexoDAQ.

The nexoDAQ system is deployed in the factory and measures the condition of the fans continuously. The data is collected in a dedicated database and analyzed to check for anomalies or potential defects in early stages. Maintenance engineers can inspect detailed information through a secure web interface. The monitoring system issues automatically warnings when normal operation thresholds are exceeded.
