The SUBLIME project on structural health monitoring of steel infrastructures has recently started. It is a collaborative research project granted by the Dutch national funding agency NWO. The project main goal is to increase the reliability of large steel infrastructures, such as bridges, through the development of Digital Twins that will integrate structural health monitoring and prediction models.

The workshop on fatigue and dynamic loading, held on November 8th, 2023, explored the details of a number of innovative technologies that can be used to generate the Digital Twins able to analyze the current state and predict the future state, thereby reducing the degradation uncertainty. Inertia’s focus was on distributed and wireless solutions that can offer insights into motion and vibration monitoring.
